Health Canada proposes banning smoking in multi-unit dwellings to protect youth

In a report, Seizing the opportunity: the future of tobacco control in Canada, released last Wednesday, Health Canada listed a ban on smoking in multi-unit dwellings as a potential policy option to protect youth from tobacco.  Their goal is to drive down tobacco use in Canada to less than 5% by the year 2035.  The home is one of the key remaining places where kids are still involuntarily exposed to second-hand smoke, especially in multi-unit buildings such as condos and apartments.
